Ex AFA GM joins robo advice firm
A digital advice provider has appointed a former AFA general manager of partnerships to head up its sales efforts in the Asia Pacific region.
In a statement, Ignition Advice said it had appointed Robert Coulter as business development director Asia-Pacific, effective immediately.
Mr Coulter was most recently the AFA’s general manager of partnerships, and has also held senior roles at AMP Advice and in ING’s superannuation business.
Commenting on his new role, Mr Coulter said he was excited to work for a firm that was committed to opening access to advice for more consumers.
“I have for a considerable period of time believed that digital advice is a key ingredient to helping more Australians access safe, compliant and affordable advice,” Mr Coulter said.
“I believe that there is a real convergence of purpose with industry, government and regulators all demonstrating a desire to deliver safe, compliant and affordable advice.”
Ignition Advice co-founder and director Mark Fordree said the group was pleased to welcome Mr Coulter to its “growing global team”.
“We look forward to maintaining this momentum with strong staff recruitment throughout 2021,” Mr Fordree said.
The appointment follows a successful series B capital raising for Ignition last year.
