New technical manager joins KnowIT

Financial services software firm KnowIT has announced Rob Lavery will join the business as technical manager.

Mr Lavery is one of four appointments made by the company to support its Desk Caddie service, and over the course of his 15-year career has worked at ING, OnePath, Pinnacle Financial Services and, most recently, ANZ Wealth.

KnowIT has also appointed Kieren Dell, Stuart Milne and Tim Miller as subject matter experts, who will develop subject updates for the company's Desk Caddie software.

Mr Dell has over three decades of experience in superannuation and financial services and is currently a partner in Praxis Partners, and has held roles with Perpetual Private Clients and Westpac Financial Services.

Mr Milne has also been in the financial services industry for more than thirty years and was a co-founder of Praxis Partners, having previously worked for businesses such as Zurich Financial Services, Colonial First State and Aviva Australia.

Mr Miller is an independent SMSF trainer who began his career in the financial services industry in 1990, and worked with Cavendish Superannuation, AMP SMSF and the Australian Taxation Office.

KnowIT chief executive Wayne Wilson said the appointments would add more "technical and legislative knowledge, analysis and support" to the Desk Caddie service.

"Ensuring we have comprehensive, up-to-date and accessible information available to Desk Caddie users at all times is key to its ongoing success," he said.

"Desk Caddie already provides practical support to more than 4,000 advisers, to help develop financial planning strategies for clients, and these appointments will further add to the services we provide."
